Entrepreneur and innovator Dr. David Soane, PhD, founds company in Cambridge, MA. Dr. Soane recruits a team of scientists and engineers with backgrounds in chemistry and physics to solve the problem of how to transform methane into other useful substances without combustion.

2015 -2019
Successful development
The company conducts R&D operations at its new lab in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, resulting in a Proof of Concept reactor system for Transform’s ground-breaking microwave-generated plasma technology, and successfully producing ultra-high purity acetylene and sustainable hydrogen.

2020-21
Commercialization
Transform and DSM Nutritional Products Ltd (“DSM”) sign a licensing agreement that validated the technology with an ambitious project for integrating Transform’s reactors into DSM’s European plants. DSM has licensed Transform’s patented technology for the production of its vitamins, carotenoids and nutritional ingredients. Together Transform and DSM declare the successful operation of Transform’s pilot microwave plasma plant in Florida, exceeding the required hydrogen and acetylene purity and plant reliability.

Equipment & Technology Partner
Chart Industries Inc. (“Chart”) (NSYE: GTLS), a leading global manufacturer of liquefaction and cryogenic equipment serving multiple applications in the clean energy and industrial gas end markets, including hydrogen, announces an investment in Transform Materials in the amount of $25 million for 5% of its equity.

European Presence
Transform expands its European operations within Brightlands Chemelot Campus, an important location allowing for accelerated growth of production plants in Europe. Located in the province of Limburg, the Netherlands, the campus supports a vibrant business community, and it will facilitate testing and upscaling new processes for Transform.
